Absence and Attendance Management

Absence from work is conservatively estimated to cost UK employers around £13 billion per year. Up to 5% of the UK workforce is away from work through illness on any one day. The average employer is estimated to spend 10% of its annual pay bill managing the consequences of absence.

Presenteeism – when employees perform sub-optimally at work due to ill-health or mental strain – is estimated to affect the productivity of a further 25% of the workforce.
