Ideopolis: a review of quality of life indicators

Ideopolis: knowledge cities working paper - a review of quality of life indicators

pdf 542kb

Lee, Neil

2006

Ideopolis: knowledge cities working paper - a review of quality of life indicators  reviews the literature on quality of life and how it is related to place, focusing on how it can be measured. It argues that quality of life has been misused as concept, and rankings vary significantly according to the methodology – reflecting the concepts subjective nature. However, if a reasonable approximation of quality of life could be found, it could prove a positive-sum method of city competition.
