Leadership Profiling
What is it?
Your profile is a snapshot of perception: a comparison of your self-perception with anonymous feedback from those who you work with. These people may include: colleagues, team members, manager, stakeholders, suppliers and users.
Warren Bennis, Leadership Guru, described our leadership-profiling tool as the best he had seen. It is based on unique empirical research across the three sectors focusing on the views of team members as opposed to leaders.
Why Profile?
Self-awareness is a key step to becoming a good leader. What our team members think of us matters, as they won’t choose to work with us if they don’t like the way we lead. If your colleagues are also profiled you can compare yourself to them and build up an organisational picture.
Different Types of Profiling
The Campaign for Leadership offers an established model of leadership. Besides giving you a picture of what your team think of you, you can also benchmark with our data base of several thousand leaders who have completed the profile.
Alternatively we can work with you to develop a customised profiling tool based on your organisation’s values and competences. This can include feedback from clients, customers and users.
You may feel that different attributes of a profiling tool are more relevant than others at different levels of management in the organisation. In which case it is possible to weight different items, which impacts upon overall results.
You may want to incorporate our profiling tool into your appraisal scheme and administer it in house. We operate a licensing scheme, which involves accrediting practitioners from your organisation.
How we can help?
We provide follow up coaching and leadership development tailored to profile results. We also re-profile leaders at 6-12 months intervals so that they can gauge improvement.
